Russian MoD claims 629 Ukrainian drones intercepted overnight

Bottom line

Russian MoD and Siloviki report the interception of 629 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones across 14-15 regions overnight, with significant activity near Moscow. Claims include casualties in Bryansk and damage in Rostov, highlighting the scale of the aerial threat.

Why it matters

The reported volume of 600+ drones in one night tests the limits of Russian air defense and electronic warfare capabilities, highlighting the saturation tactics employed by Ukrainian forces and the potential for defensive system degradation over time.

Russian MoD and Siloviki report the interception of 629 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones in a single night across 14-15 regions, including Moscow, Krasnodar, Crimea, and the Black/Caspian Seas. Rusvesna corroborates the volume, noting 350+ drones headed toward Moscow with 64 reaching the capital’s vicinity. The Russian MoD attributes the high interception rate to air defense efforts, while Ukrainian sources dispute the scale, though the sheer volume of launches underscores the intensity of the ongoing aerial campaign.
