Russian drone crews tune transmitters to counter Ukrainian EW

Bottom line

Russian sources report Molniya-2 drone crews are actively tuning video transmitters and spectrum analyzers to avoid interference, indicating an adaptive counter-EW tactic.

Why it matters

NATO EW units should expect Russian Molniya-2 operators to employ dynamic frequency hopping and manual spectrum management to mitigate Ukrainian jamming effectiveness.

Russian sources report Molniya-2 drone crews are actively tuning video transmitters and spectrum analyzers to avoid interference, indicating an adaptive counter-EW tactic. This manual tuning is used to maximize range and counter Ukrainian adaptation, with operators emphasizing that precision tuning saves lives. This follows earlier reports of engineers modifying Molniya-2 EW systems, suggesting a continuous feedback loop between production and frontline EW adaptation.
