Marduk Technologies
Builds the Shark electro-optical counter-UAS system for detecting and tracking small drones.

Marduk Technologies is an Estonian defense technology firm founded in 2020 and headquartered in Tallinn. The company operates within the counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) sector, focusing on the development of electro-optical systems designed for the detection, classification, and targeting of unwanted aerial threats. The firm’s primary operational base is located at Akadeemia tee 21/6 in Tallinn, where it develops hardware intended to address the complexities of modern airspace security for military assets, borders, and critical infrastructure.
The company’s flagship product is the Marduk Shark, a high-precision C-UAS platform capable of detecting small drones, such as those the size of a DJI Mavic, up to 3 kilometers away. The system is also designed to identify larger fixed-wing drones, including Iranian-made Shahed and Russian Orlan models, from distances of 6 to 8 kilometers. Weighing approximately 75 kilograms, the Shark utilizes passive wide-angle optical detection with a 20-degree field of view and features a gimbal capable of speeds up to 270 degrees per second. It integrates custom AI/ML model databases for classification and on-board computing. The platform is designed for versatility, allowing integration with various external sensors and effectors, including radars, radio frequency (RF) detectors, audio detectors, jammers, lasers, and Remote Weapon Stations (RWS).
In addition to the Shark, Marduk Technologies produces the Piraya, a compact counterpart to its flagship system. The Piraya weighs around 10 kilograms and offers effective passive drone detection capabilities, identifying mini drones up to 2 kilometers away and larger drones from 3 to 5 kilometers. Its lightweight design facilitates rapid deployment in various environments, including mounting on vehicles or stationary setups on tripods. The Piraya features a gimbal speed of up to 90 degrees per second and supports 360-degree object tracking. Like the Shark, it incorporates custom AI/ML classification models and on-board computing, making it suitable for both vehicle-mounted and stationary security applications.
Marduk Technologies has engaged with national and international defense initiatives to validate and deploy its technology. In 2025, the company was selected for the second round of Estonia’s Ministry of Defence Defence Industry Development Program. The firm has also participated in NATO’s DiBaX 2025 event in Latvia, where it showcased its passive optical C-UAS technology as part of efforts to strengthen digital defense backbones. In 2026, Marduk received the “Supporter of National Defenders” recognition, highlighting its role in supporting national defense efforts. The company maintains a public presence through its website, marduk.tech, where it provides technical specifications and contact information for potential partners and clients.
