Dronarnia
Wartime FPV-drone workshop network producing strike quadcopters at scale for front-line units.
Dronarnia, operating under the corporate entity Drone Space Labs, is a Ukrainian defense technology firm established in 2022 and headquartered in Kyiv. The company emerged during the early stages of the full-scale Russian invasion to address the urgent need for scalable unmanned aerial systems and robust command-and-control infrastructure for Ukrainian front-line units. While the company maintains a public web presence at dronarnia.com.ua, it does not publicly disclose its founding team or executive leadership structure in available records.
The firm’s product portfolio is divided into strike platforms, logistics drones, and specialized ground control stations. Its most prominent strike system is the “Velykyi Banderyk,” a large unmanned aerial vehicle designed primarily for night operations to drop unexploded ordnance. The system is paired with the “Dronarnia 5.0” ground control station, a professional unit featuring an integrated antenna complex and control case designed for long-range piloting and operator safety. The “Velykyi Banderyk” has been officially codified by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, receiving the NATO Stock Number 1550-61-015-7410.
In addition to strike capabilities, Dronarnia produces the BM-24 “Banderyk Mothership,” a 24-inch versatile drone platform. This system serves as an aerial signal relay and a carrier for the secondary 1.5 kg “Banderyk” FPV loitering munition. It is equipped with the “Vidlunnia” (Echo) relay, which extends communication range with other drones up to 20 km at an altitude of approximately 1 km, providing a stable connection resilient to electronic warfare interference. The company also manufactures the B-24, a multipurpose quadcopter capable of carrying up to 7 kg of cargo with an effective operating radius of 27 km. For heavy logistics, Dronarnia offers the “Shukhevych,” a heavy-lift octocopter with a maximum payload of 40 kg and an unloaded flight time of up to 50 minutes.
The company’s ground control infrastructure is centered on the “Dronarnia 5.0” station, which integrates three independent transmitters to cover different frequency ranges, including 1.2 GHz and 5.8 GHz video receivers. The system is designed to activate a triple signal duplication mode in heavily polluted radio environments, with a confirmed operational range of 50 km and a control cable length of up to 100 meters. The company also produces the “Kreb” Mobile Dome Protection System, an electronic warfare solution codified by the Ministry of Defence (NSN: 5865-61-019-2470) that disrupts aerial vehicle communication channels using cloverleaf antennas to create a protective dome.
Dronarnia’s systems are deployed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with several products receiving official military codification. The company operates an engineering school and offers comprehensive modernization services for unmanned ground vehicles, including the installation of EW protection systems. While specific contract values and employee counts are not publicly disclosed, the firm’s integration into the Ukrainian defense industrial base and its focus on counter-electronic warfare solutions mark it as a specialized supplier in the country’s drone ecosystem.
