Amazing Drones
A Kharkiv interceptor-drone maker, now majority-owned by Japan's Terra Drone, producing the low-cost Terra A1.

Amazing Drones is a Kharkiv-based manufacturer of interceptor drones, one of a cluster of Ukrainian firms — alongside Wild Hornets and Fire Point — that emerged during the war to tackle the specific problem of shooting down Iranian-designed Shahed one-way attack drones. Its founding date and the names of its founders have not been made public. What has become public is a change in its ownership: on 31 March 2026, Japan’s Terra Drone Corporation announced a capital and business alliance with Amazing Drones through its subsidiary Terra Inspectioneering, taking a strategic stake in the company as part of its own entry into the defence market. Toru Tokushige, Terra Drone’s chief executive, framed the investment as a response to what he described as the top security priority of neutralising loitering munitions.
The company’s headline product is the Terra A1, a small fixed-wing interceptor developed jointly with Terra Drone. According to the two firms, the A1 flies at a maximum speed of around 300 km/h, covers a range of roughly 32 km, and stays airborne for about fifteen minutes — enough, they say, for a single airframe to handle surveillance, detection and neutralisation in one sortie. The 300 km/h figure is pitched deliberately: the Shahed-136 the interceptor is designed to hunt cruises at closer to 200 km/h, giving the A1 a run-down margin. Electric propulsion is presented as a stealth advantage, reducing the noise and heat signature that would otherwise give the interceptor away. A second variant, the Terra A2, has been announced as being scaled into production alongside the A1, though little technical detail has been made public.
The economic argument the two companies make around the A1 is more interesting than the specifications. Terra Drone’s announcement describes a shift in the fundamentals of air defence — expensive missiles being spent on cheap drones — and pitches the A1 as a way to counter low-cost threats with a low-cost means. The unit price has been reported in the low thousands of dollars per airframe, orders of magnitude below the interceptor missiles typically fired at Shahed swarms. Whether that price survives contact with mass production, and whether the reported performance holds up in the electronic-warfare and jamming environment over Ukraine, will be the tests that matter.
Amazing Drones sits in an unusual position in the wider BRAVE1 ecosystem: a small Ukrainian producer whose combat-tested engineering has attracted foreign capital looking for a way into the defence market, rather than the reverse. Terra Drone, which had until recently focused on inspection, surveying and urban air mobility, has said it intends to use the Ukrainian know-how to scale interceptor production for Japanese and allied requirements, and to link the A1 into a broader unmanned portfolio spanning FPV drones, reconnaissance platforms and unmanned surface vessels. The alliance is, on both sides, an early bet that the cheap-interceptor category is here to stay.

Terra A1
A low-cost electric interceptor co-developed with Japan's Terra Drone, built for fast deployment against Shahed-type drones. Reported max speed ~300 km/h, range ~32 km, and roughly 15-minute flight covering detection to neutralisation; electric propulsion gives low noise and heat signature. Priced from about $3,000.
Terra A2
A second interceptor variant in the Terra A-series being scaled into production alongside the A1.
